Anyone else watching Dragon Ball Super? Finally got around to watching it myself. I'm on episode 79. I need to get something off my chest that bothers me so much I'm not sure if I want to continue watching it. Spoilers obviously, so stop reading if you haven't reached this point and plan to.
I've already been annoyed by the fact that so much of it focuses on Goku and everyone is pushed to the side, save for Vegeta. But now that I've reached the beginning of the Tournament of Power, everything about Goku pisses me off. As I've grown, I've disliked him more and more. I still enjoy DBZ as an adult, but Goku is one of my least favorite characters despite being the main character.
But they went to far with all the features I hate about him, especially his childishness (you're in your forties by this point, grow the fuck up!), his stupidity, his recklessness, and his incredible irresponsibility.
I almost snapped when he nearly died because his lust for a fight led him to hire an assassin to kill himself! His constant disrespectful actions around the god of gods, friend or not, got really old really fast about the tenth time he was warned he was risking the UNIVERSE, by acting like that.
But now, after Beerus warning him against it so sternly that Beerus as prepared to kill Goku on the spot, Goku still goes to remind Zen-Oh about the tournament, one they revealed has the super dragon balls for the winners, and oblivion for the losers, with Zen-Oh saying he will erase all losing universes.
That is insanely horrible. Sure, Goku has a moment where he is like 'oh, crap, I might have messed up', but then he's just like, 'it's fine because I'll make sure we win.' It isn't fine! Even if you win, by the end of the tournament, 11 universes will be erased! You have vicariously murdered hundreds of trillions of innocent people! You're a monster who did this all so you could get a stupid fight and you don't even realize it! At least Frieza and Cell knew they were evil. Goku... is... the worst...

I chime in on super from time to time, but I agree they did make Goku a lot more reckless in this show then he typically is. I'm going with it's probable the god powers effecting him, because this Goku is essentially a god now.
Never thought how terrifying Goku with the powers of a god could be. Or the powers of a super saiyan god...
...Or the powers of the super saiyan version of a super saiyan god...
...Or the powers of the super saiyan version of a super saiyan god enhancing his powers with the technique learned from another god... it gets confusing.
...Can't wait for Dragon Ball Fighterz!

I will stick with Krillin because Destructo Disc is my favorite move in all of DBZ, it's just so solid!

Excited, though. Wanna know about the original story, even if it will probably be the weakest part. Where did Android 21 come from? How is she making clones of people? How do villains like Cell and Frieza come back? Will the world's savor, Mr. Satan, be able to stop this threat and save the world once again?! Anticipation!
