X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I personally chose to avoid applying for Those characters, because of their role in XCOM is very significant and finding time to interact With the soldiers Would be difficult. I mean Dr.vahlen is the head scientist of XCOM, she spends most of her time in the labs. I can't Think of a scenario...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Tbh I think WW III is a very likely scenario. I mean I don't think theres one country that would not want the spoils of war. Hyper Wave Relay, a highly advanced radar system which can probably be attuned to detect allmost anything. I mean if it was able to detect a cloaked temple ship, I'm...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Well I Wonder if X-COMs Partners get the MEC suits? I find it very likely that mecs Would continue service in the army because thats kinda What They Were made for. I kinda Would want X-COM to give us Some post Game lore. I mean I want to know What happened to the MEC's and gene modded soldiers...

I just have to wonder how they would even integrate back into society. I mean some of them have recieved guite the drastic changes.

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I can't say my character would mind it, she is glad to do what she can to help humanity. Allthough I have to wonder: what will X-COM do about the MEC's and gene modded soldiers after the war is over? I mean a human with two hearts for example isn't exacly the most common things for doctors to...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I'd say in the case of X-COM its more interesting to meet as strangers rather than friends. Because that stranger you meet up with is going to be the person you are going to have to trust your life with, that persons shot with an assault rifle or any other weapon might define your life or death...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I see your point, but still there allready is bond beetween you and the other character. And allready the way a character handels formalities can tell a lot of its personality. Personal preferance like I said lol.

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I think the reason it hasn't been brought up is because its allways more fun to build up the bond beetween two characters from ground zero, instead of them allready knowing each other beforehand and allready having a bond. This is just my personal view on the things, it seems more fun to me.

Its the safest to assume Your Soldier does not know Them beforehand unless agreed upon by both Players.

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Well if You want to do it recommend You ask the soldiers roleplayer about it. But not Every Soldier knows each Other I mean They come from All over the world. And Being part of the same army does not nesessarily mean You know that person. I mean the US army for example is HUGE. Theres good...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I have added the pledge with a couple of edits to make it more like a pledge for the scientists. I mean I'm pretty sure scientists don't enlist themselves as elite soldiers, I mean the amount of shooting experience the scientists have is probably testing prototype guns, hardly soldier levels of...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I have to ask: is the pledge reguired for a scientist? I mean the pledge is meant more for the soldiers, as the scientists aren't really at a risk to lose their life. The pledge doesn't really make sence for a scientist so thats my reasoning for leaving it out of my entry. I hope thats totally fine?

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Well we can't really judge what we can't know can we? My hopes are up for chris to let us make atleast two posts per week, its the majoritys opinion from what I can see.

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

This is what I was trying to suggest. I just ended up choosing to apply for a scientists position be safe about it, I'l sit back from active soldier duty this season and see how chris handles his soldiers. I kinda lost a part of my trust when he left the entire squad on ironman impossible in...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

As you said, focusing on the aliens is handled by chris and the videos, the RP should focus more on whats happening in the base while not on missions. I'm higly considering doing the same if possible, since side characters are not allowed it seems and I don't trust chris(No offense dude, love...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Both in one post? Thats really hard. Most soldiers keep their logs private and I really don't want to waste my partners time by posting a huge monologue in the beginning of a collaboration. If my character is closely attached to some soldier on the base it won't be just "gg wp you fought well...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I personally feel like I need atleast a two post restriction, so I can reserve one for collaborations I will do and one for personal log, because I don't want to have trade one for another, because of the possible changing factors. Lets say I make a personal log about something that has...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

You're thinking this as a person outside the roleplaying season which is totally fine, but think it from our perspective: We can't make any collaborations, we will barely have any emotional connection to other soldiers if we can just do mission logs, and again as pointed out earlier: If only one...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I don't view it as cheap really, but I Can See Your point There. Its just that Lets say My Soldier dies in the Second episode of season 4, I don't want to just sit back and watch as the others roleplay. One side character per person? I mean that would allow a person to have a soldier AND a...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

yeah Chris Why? Having a side character Can be a saving Grace for us whos character dies early on. Now With side character I don't mean Another Soldier, I mean having a side character Like one of the scientists or a Doctor. The same type of side characters We had last season. Could We atleast...
