This mission showcases the risk and price of directness. While it was a shorter mission, the path they chose to take, going for a frontline battle, cost them heavily. The price of expediency is often paid in blood. They didn't have a plan B if something like Elma happend either. All these factors caused the team to be basically shredded, and caused Eraqus's life changing injury.
However, if they had done something that took longer, or had not approached peacefully, Aine might not have been willing to turn on her sister, that or even she might have been corrupted.
All in all, the team chose to bear the burden of pain themselves, which is why Aine was so compassionate with Eraqus, she understood this. :3
