Another strand of energy flowed from Gula to the human. He slowly turned around and pressed the button. Gula released his control, long enough for the girl to scream in terror, and long enough for the man to watched the crimson spray coat the window before him. His eyes filled with rage and sorrow, the man rushed Gula, raising his good fist. It stopped inches from Gula's face. 'Y-you... I-I'll kill you, you son of a..." The man screamed, the bones in his hand being pulverized. He collapsed to the ground, starring in horror at the limp appendage that had been his hand.
What...the actual...

I'm just...speechless.

That a good thing, or a bad thing? I'm guessing bad. Though I'm afraid it can't all be happy times and sweet loving. The grim reality of the terrible forces our characters face must show its ugly head again. And trust me, other then Avaritia, Luxuria was likely one of the most tame of the seven (though I likely won't be so grim every time. I just wanted to remind everyone that the Ethereals care little for humans, and the two aforementioned Ethereals are likely the nicest ones you should expect).

Anyway, new Ethereal post.

That tops Samuel, or anything else I remember Zombie writing. Even the thing with Ayame's uncle, and what he did to her girlfriend, in season 3.
Well, I wouldn't go that far and now you're making me feel dirty.

But yeah, probably tops Samuel. But why does it top Sammy? I will tell you. Because, as cruel as Sammy might have been, it was mostly as a result of apathy, not caring about the lives he destroyed. As for Gula, it is active cruelty based on diverting hostility he feels towards from others he is too cowardly to stand up to, towards individuals who are removed from that situation and share no blame.

In other words, he is the evil, alien version of a self-conscious bully.

My school-time bullies seem less bad now.
And remember, Gula doesn't care about humans, and this was the result. Invivdia hates humans.

(Though now that the point is across, and I recieved the appropriate reactions, I likely won't be this dark in the future. Both for the sake of everyone's sanity, and so people don't make me feel bad:().

Thank goodness I have no such compunctions against being that grimdark! :D

Right now, I wish I could say the same.

I try to keep my victims of an age that they're not completely helpless. :p Still, if you're scaring people and you're trying to scare people, it means you've succeeded. That's why I liked doing Emily's Luxuria-made nightmares so much >:]

By the way, the title for Luxuria's memory in my post isn't a typo, ambiguus is Latin for "having double meaning" (and the first one, solus, was "alone," which later made the word solitude). Theming!

Well, for me, it was the point of showing the 'no one is safe' angle, and nothing more. I didn't do it to be cruel, and in retrospect, I probably should have made the girl older (though, to be fair, they whole family was helpless).

That's all she was. The 'no one is safe' character. The little girl from [REC]. Gage from Pet Semetary. Charlie from Trick 'r Treat. Maria from Frankenstein. That one zombie girl from The Walking Dead.

For me, part of the horror in movies like Wes Craven's New Nightmare, The Shining, or Aliens is the fact that there is a child at risk.

But to anyone I may have upset or insulted, I appologize. I can not promise I won't get this dark again, especially considering the enemies we have (as well as something I have planned for tomorrow or the next day), but I can promise it won't directly involve children in this way again (this doesn't mean Brigid, Sunny, Keiko, Hitomi, or Rei are completely safe, but there won't be anything so graphic). Besides, doing so makes me feel like this anyway:

I don't think anyone was that distraught, unless you got a PM saying that someone was that distraught. :p XCOM is a pretty dark game when you're thinking about it, and all we do is think about it here.

Watch 2:21 to 2:57 for the "Evil alien's opinion on the subject of children".
