You all say that now, but when the Council comes a knocking, demanding the removal of certain insubordinate Commanders how are risking the X-COM project for the sake of personal sentiment, who will stand be their personal loyalties, and who will instead focus on their military loyalties.
Their first mistake would be not realizing how many guns and ammo we have, the second mistake being that they didn't realize how many trained super soldiers there are, and their third mistake being they fucked with the wrong Extraterrestiral Combat Unit.

"Do you have any idea how expensive that bug was?! Why must you always make my job so much harder?"

Also thought I'd mention why I haven't been doing much. Combination of writer's block and being too damn busy. I do have plans now though, so once this essay is out of the way (thought I'd left the buggers behind with school) you can probably expect something... especially now that Charles appears to gotten in way over his head.

... I've been steepling my fingers a lot recently. Wonder why?

I'm not turning into Pixy, am I?

So, the good news is, I have a couple of morning shifts next week.

The bad news is I have to work 1-8 today, 8-6 tomorrow, 9-5 Sunday, and 8-4 on Monday.

Sigh... gonna be a loooooong weekend.

And so ends the extraction, and a chain I've been long anticipating. :) Hope everyone enjoyed, and big thanks to Marine for working with me to finish this mission.

I actually thought Desmond was going to kill her (both times), but he went another direction, and I certainly wasn't going to execute her with Emily while she was in his grasp :p I always appreciate a surprise decision like that, though.

Mariya died, though. Quite gruesomely too, as befitting her character.

(Sarcasm/Joke Indicator to prevent excess levels of salt) Can we agree that we're not going to feel bad for the Uber and try to take him prisoner or talk things out, though? :p Sure, the military can be nice sometimes, but when push comes to shove heads have to roll. (For realism's sake and for my sanity)

Well, when we started, we had 0. Then we got Death, which makes it 1. Then Luxuria started coming around, which makes it 2.

So, yeah, growing. :D

Why are we so soft... Mira shoulda gotten a bullet through her head. o_O
Meh. Like I've said before, life in jail is always a worse punishment then a swift death (hence Demeter's quick 180 in loyalty at the prospect of the former)

...unless... she's being sent to Blackgate or Arkham. Those places are revolving doors, so better to execute her now (unless this is the Lovecraft Arkham Sanitarium, in which case, let Cthulu have her).

And considering what the Uber was revealed to have done to a certain kawai Ethereal... I think the hardest thing I'll have to deal with is everyone fighting over who gets to finish him.

I think I'll stick with the presumption that the Ethereal's (as a culture/civilization, not a race) are probably beyond saving in the big picture. At least the ones directing invasions and the sort. If there are 'civilian Ethereals' that don't partake in the experiments, maybe, but the ones we are facing must be taken down. (And holding them captive is no easy task)
