Nice little solo for you guys. Once again fell foul of the 'just over 10k characters' so it's technically a two-parter. Nothing overly serious in there. No major foreshadowing for both one of my subplots and for another post that should be going up later today at all.
Taking a look at the post with the Ethereals, is it weird I envision Albina as half the height as the other two? I know she is probably just as tall, up in my mind I read her meekness and envision... small. I don't know...
I liked the tension, btw. An obvious sign that the betrayals and turning tides are getting the Elders to lose they calm demeanors. I have a question about the mention Inquisition. Obviously it is to route out 'heretics' among the Ethereals. Is it something that has been ongoing since the Purge, or is it something that has glared up again since the betrayal of Shen'letusus?

It's been around. Do you remember Arbiter Minos from Story of Defiance? He headed a sort of judicial branch of the Ethereal government in that story, it just didn't have an official name in SoD. The Inquisitors are meant to serve as the warriors of the Path beneath the Overseers, but they also watch over the Overseers to ensure they remain loyal. They were used during the Purge to eradicate traitors and failures.
The Arbiter is equal in rank with the Overseers, only rising above temporarily if one of them wavers from the Path.
Gotcha. So the inquisitors are to the Overseers as a medical officer is to a Captain on a Star ship, under them except in certain situations, only instead of forcing a Captain to report to sickbay for a check up, they order a death squad against a traitorous Overseer (or presumably go to the Arbiter with their findings and she orders the death squad).
