I know I've done these before but I'm gonna start calling them public service announcements to make them seem more formal. So...

PSA: Don't forget the value of rumors. Remember how in Story of Defiance Ammelia had so many people finding out she was blind until we finally decided word had got around? If something isn't revealed in a private conversation (say, the fact that Yakone is the Commander's daughter) eventually everyone will know a specific plot point related to a character so they won't be going in circles.

Keep in mind it's more likely to happen faster depending on how nuts the particular detail is. Ammy Blindness, Cathy's super high energy, Marx's inability to feel pain, stuff like that will spread pretty fast.

At long last, enjoy a solo that I've worked very hard on that delves into the consequences of Yakone's hubris in more ways than one, and what she can learn from it.

And after some annoying trimming say hello to the second level of soldier abilities. (Note that the descriptions given here are preserved on the Skill Databank google document in my signature. I blended them in with the post and then extracted them when I was done.)

PSA: Made some adjustments to future class abilities. Changelog -

1. Added a stun effect to the Trooper's 'Bombardment' to make it more distinct from Saturation Fire (Grenadier).

2. Replaced Steady Hands and Steady Aim with new abilities since those are kind of lame for Level 6.

[Sniper] Breaker Shot – This soldier can use an aimed shot to specifically target and destroy an enemy’s weapon mechanisms.
[Gunslinger] Wild West Hero – A pistol shot that does double damage. Works with Quickdraw, making it a single action.

3. Finally finished and edited the Juggernaut Skill Tree. See below.

Reminder ('Sam' issue resolved, just need to add her to the database):

The only staff members, player or otherwise, on the Avenger are the ones listed on the Avenger Database document. Anyone with an exclamation mark in front of their name blurb is used primarily by a specific rper.

I shouldn't see anyone making up NPCs on the fly to fulfill single post needs. If you need someone grab one of the unclaimed staff from the gdoc that I made for you.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT:

Story is frozen until sometime next weekend. Couple of reasons for this...

First and foremost is that I have AP testing in full swing this coming week and so I'm not going to be able to effectively do my job as a consequence.

Second of all, the last mission of the first month has been delayed from being finished for the second time in a row, much to my chagrin. The story was supposed to have progressed beyond this point a week ago, and now it's at the point where the only advances we need are blocked by the mission's failure to be completed.

Apologies for the inconvenience, even if I busted my ass trying to finish this mission every chance I got. If you still want to write things with each other, feel free to. Just save posting for when I lift the brief hiatus, which will be done once the mission is complete (but for apparent chronological reasons things written during the hiatus will precede Operation Crimson Visitor).

Update: Continuing to enjoy Beaglerush's "War Within" campaign, though I haven't got to the episode relevant to this. I have a bunch of ideas related to story month two of LoE, and am looking forward to finishinf the mission at long last this weekend. I'll do it solo if I must.

Update 2: Have strong concepts with desired enemies listed for 3 of Story Month II's missions. Hint at the SM2 finale mission: Long War Strikes Back.

Have a new "Enemy Abilities" doc in my signature that I've shared with all of you. It's for those of you that want to know how the abilities our foes have - that are not analogous or identical to XCOM's skills - work. Additionally, this one goes out to @Taxor_the_First (since he will write missions solo often) and anyone else interested: if you want to see the draft of damage/armor/etc values that I refer to on missions, I can add that as a google sheet too.

About the Alien Hunters DLC and Ruler Aliens...

That's... I'm not going to be able to kill them? Even with the Master Chief? I have a bad feeling about this...

What the... what the... I'm just... that may be too brutal even compared to the enemy units I have in store personally...

You can wear your enemy's skin.
Noice. I always wanted a [insert alien name here] coat!
