So just got done reading the mission, and wow that ending. didn't see that coming. Well done to everyone involved.

Actually, funnily enough Church is Marine's character. Marine made him an excellent sniper before ever watching RvB, so when I saw the pitch I was just cackling to myself.
The AIs are inspired, this much I will admit. I did my best to make mine fairly unique, as did Marine and Tax... though I'll give you one guess as to who Pysma most closely resembles among the Freelancer Fragments.
Now that you mention it... I did not register that.
Mental Meta Metal will blare for Adam, yeah.

Since someone brought this up to me, I would like to point out that I'm not about to break internal consistency. The helmcams did record this mission - obviously not what Yakone saw psionically, but the exchange between Blukersey and Yakone would be known to anyone that was watching the feed. (The whole reason the feed exists is so that the characters don't have to ask what happened after every mission to get the big picture) So it would be known that there was some sort of connection between those two, though it's also pretty clear that the Major had no idea what Ipiktok was talking about.

As an important note, I'll probably be starting work on the Avenger Defense on Wednesday. Want to give us about ten days to ensure it gets done, since I have three seperate fronts a la how Viktor's assault on SoD HQ played out. In no particular order, the groups include:

Importantly, this doesn't mean you can't (you should) work on solos and collabs after Wednesday. There's plenty of stuff to talk about from the last mission - a lot going on to be discussed before we get shot down. So as long as you're not in the middle of writing one of the mission pieces with me between the 9th and 19th, feel free to continue on since the Base Defense only "Happens" when I start posting on the 20th. You know it's coming in advance to prepare, but your characters should focus on recent events since they have no idea what's coming.

I just want you guys to know how much I love and appreciate you all. Some of my favorite recent memories are collabs or just discussions with all of you.
I just want you guys to remember that... no matter happens... no matter where I go or what happens to me... I care about you all. Don't ever doubt that. That includes those of you I don't talk to very often. That includes those of you I... fight with. This has been a fairly positive part of my life.
Remember that... remember me as the man who was made so happy by all of you. If nothing else, think to yourself in the future, "That Joe guy... I made him happy. I made another person appreciate life. And that makes me appreciate myself."
Not to sound like I'm all that important. But... I hope you get what I mean. You're all special to me... and I love you all.

And we all love you two Zombie, you have give us many great colabes and solos over the years. And speacking for myself here, it has been a pleasure to know you Zombie.
Have a collab with Dahl going up later that gets a bit... saucy. After that, I have a solo to post that is of a more serious nature. Those might not go up until pretty late, though. I work until 4 today.
