I'm not sure I'm a fan of the Alola Grimer and Muk though, to be honest. Grimer looks a bit to doofy, and Muk would be intimidating looking if it wasn't for the multicolor thing.

I like Alolan Muk, the multicolor patterns are a reference to oil splitting the sunlight of the Islands into a rainbow.
I figured that was why it was like that. Not sure why that makes it part dark type. Um... subtle reference to the evils of big business oil companies and oil spills. Um... no... no, I'm over thinking it.
Besides, nothing beats the look of Rattata... with a mustache!
