You know who I miss from SoD? The most underappreciated character of them all, whom no one ever talks about; Morrigan's cat. Remember her? Always sitting, always watching, always judging. Source of the occasional comic relief. Had a brief conversation with Atka once. Good times. You know, Ayame was actually supposed to have a pet raccoon dog in this story. But she didn't because... uh... well, to be honest, I completely forgot when we started.

...

...

...aaaaaanyway, new solo going up in a few minutes. Hope you guys enjoy. All aboard the crazy train! Toot toot!

She doesn't like Graveyards?

*looks at Anna's Dreamscape*

Well... Probably won't want to go in there any time soon...

Oh, and I know there is a really important question you all probably have after reading that post. I'll answer it here.

Éire is Irish for "Ireland"... you're welcome.

Odd question, but do any of you ever envision a 'show opening sequence' for our stories? I know I do when I'm listening to certain songs.
Using "When it Falls", the third opening of RWBY for this particular story arc in Matterhorn.
In the first part before the lyrics, envision Yakone's blue cape waving in the wind, slowly being dyed red.
"Maybe red's like roses"
The cape gets blown away by the swipe of a red gauntlet with a black star on the back.
"Maybe it's the pool of blood"
A shot showing Ember in her Crimson Regalia's full glory.
"The innocents will lay in when in the end you've failed to save them"
The siege of Matterhorn beginning, with explosions going off and civilians being gunned down in terror.
"Their dying eyes are wide and white like snow"
Close up on the shoulder-spikes of Praclaritas, and his white pupils staring into your soul.
"And know they know the cost of trusting you's obliteration"
Desmond watching over the siege, his expression obscured by his mask.

"Mirrors will shatter, crushed by the weight of the world"
Atka looks into a mirror showing her tired face. It breaks, and the room around her disappears. She's dragged from space down to Earth.
"The pillars collapse in shame"
Avarita looks over the Avatar facilities and their horrors, and then turns his back on them as everything is obscured by white.

"There'll be no rest"
Atka engaged in hand-to-hand combat with Desmond.
"There'll be no love"
Ember fighting Leon with their respective swords locked.
"There'll be no hero in the end who will rise above"
Yakone's cape is burnt to ashes.
"And when it ends, the good will crawl"
A painting of the Elders standing triumphant with Terra beneath their power.
"The shining light will sink in darkness"
A painting of the soldiers of XCOM is obscured by darkness.
"Victory for hate incarnate, misery and pain for all"
A vision of Matterhorn in ruins if Advent were to win.
"When it falls"
One by one the freedom fighters are brought to their knees by the weight of the powers against them.

I do some times, I think the ruby them for volum 3 works great for the current arc. Though I think the Ruby vol 4 them fits the entire store. From the down fall of XCOM to were we are now.

I'm going to admit to having done this, though it was a while ago and I can't recall which exact song I was hijacking. I believe it was focused around my side project, though. Haven't really done anything similar for this bar a few scenes which were and will be directly inspired by songs or their lyrics. The eagle-eyed might have picked up an errant lyric from For Whom the Bell Tolls from, of all people, Azazel. A number of the lyrics after the one/two he recited could be seen as referring to the upcoming battle... or something else that has yet to be shown...

Man, music's great.

So this gonna be weird but, how many of you come up with different stories for your character in the current story? Like having you character captured like Yakone, or being left behind by XCOM because you sacrificed yourself to save the Avenger and XCOM as a hole. Or something just as crazy?

There actually was one with Isabella's daughter but I just never really got around to it.

Funny you should mention that first one. For a short time I was entertaining the idea of letting Samuel be captured by Ignium in his last fight, but decided against because A - fuck trying to get him out of that situation without shafting the rest of my plans, and B - it's been done.

To be honest, constructing a different story around what I already have is how I plan most of my plot. A lot of the significant parts of what I write for my characters comes out of daydreaming scenes out of my ass. Then I wonder how much bullshit I'd need to pull for that situation to be justified. I've already done that several times for something that will occur in the distant future. That's... shaping up to be a big post. And perhaps a bit nostalgic, too.

And of course there was that one time I wondered what would happen if, on that mission running at the same time as the base defense, my squad came back to find the Avenger completely destroyed and everyone dead. Wasn't bloody likely, but I entertained myself with the concept nonetheless.

Advent Marx is a pretty fucking cool idea...

I imagine he looks like an Alloy Megatron mixed with Freddy Krueger Machetes topped off with glowing red eyes....

I just like thinking of Advent versions of my characters every since Yakone's capture...

Advent Ammy, terminator esc robot sniper with Soldier 76 lock on features in her SAaIDA

I even came up with an idea for Advent Cathy... Manic, Creepily happy all the time, kind of an egomaniac, skidding around the battlefield using magnetized roller blades or something... finaly using her Green psionics to Embue her duel sub-machine guns with psionic energy...

Yeah, fair warning, you are almost assuredly not going to see the climax battle until tomorrow. I have the first half to write, but I'm all missioned-out for today. If I can't sleep and end up writing until late, then you might see the first half in the dead of night/early morning, but don't expect the collaborative combat until later on Monday.

RIP.
