By the way, the new black Muton armor looks like the bottom left picture. The bottom right is a variant we haven't met quite yet.

By the way, in case I forget, Merry Christmas everyone. And if you don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Festivus for the rest of us. And if wishing you a Merry Christmas offends you for some reason... ahem...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Incidentally, if I get any funds for Christmas, I was thinking of finally dishing out the cash for XCOM2 in my PS4. If I do, you will all be in it. I might even post the occasional video. Have no means of adding commentary, but I'm sure you guys would like to see them anyway.

An update: I have one more part to write. The first half of the mission is almost ready. I'll start throwing that up soon. (There will be a gap between the solo portion and the collaborative end since it's bit too overwhelmingly tense to put up all at the same time.)

Its an okay game, just remember the start is challenging. You really have to think. I have yet to get far into the game. Damn doom clock...

Damn it. Why do you have to post while I'm at work? If I get in trouble for sneaking away every few minutes to read another paragraph, I'm blaming you Gem.

Read through part 2. Great action so far very tense. Someone by that grunt a beer! What was her name? Z... Zo... Zoya Lag... Lagunouv? Um... yeah, her!

You've actually met her before.

What a wonderful way to end the siege, this was a fantastic read. Great work you two.
Agreed. The initial mission was extremely exciting. You managed to make a threat that makes a Kerberant look like an angry three headed Shih Tzu. I am saddened by our loses there... very saddened... but at least they weren't for nothing. There was a certain bad guy death that I felt was a tad... anticlimactic, but other then that, no complaints.

The double duel to follow was just as satisfying. I wish I could have had a character thrown in there, but I understand the pair of one on one fights were for the best. Had me scared at the end there, but ultimately I like the way it turned out. Kinda... surprised that Gem is okay with... you know who... but it's cool.

With the fighting over, I wanted to make something clear regarding Shen'lutusus. I don't know if this was brought up in any of the parts (I think it was, but just in case t wasn't), but Shen was not just hiding in his tower, letting people die for him while he waited it all out. I considered having him out fighting with the rest, but his talents were of much better use then having him strengthen a single offensive. Using a room and machinery that let him extend his will across the city, he was coordinating the thousands of troops under his disposal, not an easy task for a single person, and Shen... is no exception to it, an Elder or not. If anyone was to see him now, they would find him mentally drained, and considering how much an Ethereal needs mental strength to keep their body moving, he isn't the healthiest.

Additionally, I hope I have made it clear that he isn't as cold as almost all of the other Ethereals. He cares about humans. If he didn't, he would never have betrayed his own people for them. As such, he is mournful of every life that has been lost, including those by XCOM. Just... felt this was important to note. Maybe not. Maybe just my attempt to give myself some importance in the final fight. After all, the things posted today made my silly little mission and following solo look like a first grader's paper on 'What I did during summer break" by comparison.

Luke: HAY, that was my kill and my glory. Don't down play it by comparing the biggest thing I killed to a small dog!

Is... Is it wrong that I kinda wanted Leon to die there, in Yakone's arms, after she had broken free... Just, the emotional weight of that situation would be fucking crushing... The Conflicts, inner and outer, that would come to be from that! The despair, turning to hope, turning to despair, turning to hope again!

Sorry... Anyone that remembers the end of season three will know that I greatly value the impact and grief of a good death, but when it comes to death as a writing element, it can also be a complete disaster and ruin a lot of stuff... It's hard to get juuuuust right...
