Just noticed that tommorow is my 2 year anniversary here xD What are the odds of that.
About one in 365-366, though as time grows large the odds approach one in one.
I like it, sums up everything pretty well. Though I thought you stated before that this Commander was supposed to be male this timeHere is a general plot summary of the story, to be tweeked and eventually posted in the main story thread.
XSDF: Vanguard of Forseti
January, 2044. Humanity has entered into a new age of expansion and discovery. Tensions are still high in parts of society, but the Earth is more stable, the future brighter, and the hope of the planet's people surviving to see the future is higher then it has been since the end of Humanities second world war and the invention of the atomic bomb nearly a century ago.
Now past an Earthly sense and part of a galactic community, extraterrestrial life now visits the Earth on a regular basis. In the interest of protecting humanity from other-world threats, and keeping relations with alien life positive, the eXtra Stellar Defense Force is funded by the Council of Nations and monitors alien life and alien equipment, supplies, and weapons.
One of the many duties of the XSDF is to assist in the formation of off world colonies and come to their aid if threatened by alien life. The most recent colony is Forseti, initially established as a mining colony to refresh the Earth's dwindling supply of non-terrain items, especially Elerium. Crime rates are low, and no major accidents have been reported thus far.
All is not perfect in Forseti, unfortunately. It has only been a few months since it was first established, and they are already sending reports of threats and raids from off planet. Worst of all, an unknown alien government is claiming ownership of both the mine and the planet as a whole, and demanding the colony be dismantled and it's occupants leave. Neither the XSDF or any of its allies can substantiate such a claim.
In the interest of protecting both our investments and the innocent civilians there, the head of the XSDF, Commander Astasha Streczyk, has decided to deal with this matter personally. Taking command of the Einherjar, a large battleship able to act as a mobile base, she has started a small recruiting hike, drawing in new members in every field, from soldiers to engineering to the labs, both official members and civilian staff, to join her.
Few of these seem to be from the supply of seasoned members, oddly enough. Commander Streczyk even tried to leave her first officer behind. She believes this is a simple diplomatic dispute, one that can be resolved without major conflict, and will make for a good training exercise for new recruits. Several stops are planned on the war, and the Einherjar will need to be on its guard. After the Humilitia list galactic power after the end of the Ethereal Subjugation war, reports show a rapid increase in piracy throughout our section of the galaxy.
The Einherjar is planned to depart on January 15th. We will settle this dispute on Forseti, and assure the peace of security of our people, so far from home.
Did I now? Eh... must have changed my mind. Though... don't expect another Morrigan. I'll show her bio in a bit to explain why.I like it, sums up everything pretty well. Though I thought you stated before that this Commander was supposed to be male this time
*Hype rises*Did I now? Eh... must have changed my mind. Though... don't expect another Morrigan. I'll show her bio in a bit to explain why.
...Name: Astasha Streczyk
Title/Role: Commander of the XSDF
Age: 43 (appears 33)
DoB: Feb. 29th, 2000
Sex: Female
Place of Birth: New Delhi, India
Race/Nationality: Human/Indian
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 154 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style: Short, Spiked
Eye Color: Brown
Immediate Family: None
Place of Residence before XSDF: New Delhi, India
Appearance:
Out of combat for years now, Astasha is still in relatively good shape, not letting a desk job keep her down. She keeps her hair short, has a small scar on her right cheek, and several plasma burns on her arms. She has a constant glare in her eyes, and only those close to her have ever seen her smile.
Personality:
Astasha has a fairly abrasive personality, brought on by years of action and hardship. She prefers an unattached relationship with her people, and both expects and demands the absolute best from them. Crossing her at any point will not be tolerated, and her ship's brig is ready for those who do.
Bio:
Born in the capital of New Delhi, Astasha led a fairly simple life growing up. Her moderate education and families social status made the Indian Military her best option as a career she wouldn't find demeaning. Field positions were limited for women at the time, but that changed within months of her joining.
Aliens have a tendency to throw all of the rules out the window, and everyone fit for the field hit said field. At least, until the army was suddenly told to stand down. For months, Astasha fought in small guerilla groups, having abandoned the army that was clearly under the Allen's control. Her first exposure to XCOM came during their campaign to retake the capital of India. On July 3rd, 2018, a small group led by Ammelia Fischer recused Astasha's struggling band of fighters in the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. After a tense struggle with trust, XCOM brought them to safety.
Astasha would return to the Indian Military after this, and continued to fight on her home front after this. She remained with them for another ten years, and after a five year brake, she joined the XSDF.
Astasha's rise through the ranks of the XSDF was somewhat slow despite her obvious potential. She was efficient and got results, but was abrasive, have turned bitter after the loss of her family during the Ethereal Subjugation War. Astasha listened to her superiors, but was plagued with allegations of abusive treatment of those under her, though nothing was proven. It was well known that Astasha adamantly opposed alien life on Earth, and the vast majority of those who accused her of abuse were non-humans.
Despite all of this, Astasha proved her worth and resolve during the final assault on La Defensiva Humanidad, and has been the Commander of the XSDF since 2038. She was appointed by direct insistence by the Council of Nations, though even those within the top positions of the XSDF are unsure who her supporters were.
With word of territory dispute with the Earth's new Elerium mine, Astasha has decided to personally investigate it, despite protest from her second in command. Said second now insists on coming with, something Astasha finds suspicious given her choice in requested crew.
Special Notes:
Astasha will not tolerate the more relaxed attitude of previous Commanders of the XSDF (or XCOM). She has little to no psionic potential, not that she would have psionics willingly unlocked. She has one gene-mod for every section of her body, and trains constantly in case she is needed on the battlefield.

Space racism?
I changed is so the think tank makes sense in a chronological order but i can change it to something else. Also, why is the title of this thread changed?
You're not going to be able to host all of them since we will use private documents for different purposes. What would hosting the main one or such do anyway? (The XSDF main documents don't exist yet since we haven't created the NPC soldiers list or stuff like that)I changed is so the think tank makes sense in a chronological order but i can change it to something else.
I wanna talk about the google document thing. I want that stuff to be hosted by gamigon officially. I have a few ideas. Can you send me the info
Actually I can. who's hosting the document right now (the owning account)? Part of having the documents hosted at gamigon is to ensure data doesn't get lost and to enforce good version control of document which is part of getting data not lost. You're not going to be able to host all of them since we will use private documents for different purposes. What we use are the google docs and drive and are all able to access it because we can share it among others. And that saves every minute or so and we have never had a problem with losing work that way.Actually I can. who's hosting the document right now (the owning account)? Also you need to understand that my profession among many things is collaborative document management in the cloud. I can cater a solution special for gamigon for this type of stuff. Doing so will allow me to integrate it with the site.
