On a different note... I'm using some down time to watch the Running Man for the first time. Good, old fashion 80s action cheese. Not sure why I've never seen it before. Need to see Commando, as well, if it comes on Netflix.

I ran BE pretty well on low. If you like the series I'd recommend it. It gets a lot of shit for being Civ 5 in space...but its Civ 5 in space.
Eh. I have a saying; "Try to be original, but if you can't be, at least copy from the best." People say this and that when a game comes out that has a similar feeling to a previously released game, but if you have a good idea, people a going to try and imitate it, right?

Some of the best things came from implementing someone else's idea. The Flinstones became The Simpsons, fun you lines became things like Transformers and TMNT, Dynomutt and Inspected Clouseau did the fusion dance to become Inspector Gadget. And so on...

It's from the same dev, people just wanted them to do a new engine and completely new mechanics or something else revolutionary. I think the theme change carries pretty well as long as you buy it on sale, the recycled parts aren't nearly as egregious as something like the Sims. But I guess for people who preordered (never preorder) it seemed like a ripoff, hence its poor review score.

I feel like a god among peasant, I have a PC that can run anything :3
Isn't there a saying about technology making one god-like to those who can not understand it? I think that was the whole point of Mr. Mxyzptlk. Are you from the fifth dimension, and voice by Gilbert Gottfried?

I think you're thinking of Shermer's Last Law, which went like: "Any sufficiently advanced extraterrestrial intelligence is indistinguishable from God."

My main gripe with it was it was more expensive than civ 5 and had far less content, and aside from a couple of mechanics changes additions and removals, it was basically a pricey re skin that cut half the content. Not gonna lie, I'm a little concerned that X com 2 is going to end up the same way.

Not saying BE is a bad game, don't get me wrong. It's just not worth the $90 price tag attached to it.

But if you have control or even created technology that lives, does that not make you a god?
Hmm... a debate that I'm afraid is too deep for this gaming website. So instead... something immature.

Civilization Beyond Earth is not worthy to me until a PROPER European faction is announced. Maybe the current nation that is holding all of europe together, now who might that be? Oh I don't know Germany maybe! Fact is, and I'm sorry if this offended anymore, it is an insult to that they have not added in Germany, England, Norway or anything in that direction. But FRANCE? Really? Even the Brazilians get to go into space? The dudes who can not even feed their own people? But rather build a station for the WM? Sorry but this game. Tsk. They better add a European faction in the upcoming expansion or I will be dammed that from Civ I - V, BE will be the one that stopped my playing spree.

About that whole Australia stuff I heared a ton too, you guys must have it worse than we here in Germany, we only get censored gore, but in Australia some games are not even released (Saints Row was it?) And even if the price range is outragous. Atleast we do not live in Turkey where they really depated over Minecraft being banished xD.

$90?! Say what you will about spiders, but that part about Australia must be the hardest...
Yeah, we get overpriced for just about everything software related. Windows, Apple, just about every major tech company shafts us when it comes to the price of their products. It's garbage.

And then Prisma mentioned the rating people. Oh boy. Saints Row 4, South Park Stick of Truth, Hotline Miami 2nd, and I think Mortal Kombat at one point. All of them (initially, at least) were refused classification because the people who do those things are all old men and women (mostly women I think) who have nothing to do with gaming outside of that, and who seems to have forgotten that we have an r18 rating now, and what it does.

And now our treasurer is in shit because his suggestion to first home buyers looking to buy homes (of which the price has increased by a substantial amount over the past few years) was to "get a better job". Cause that's bloody easy nowadays innit? Especially when the average price of said homes is almost over 1 mil in Sydney.

I might say how much I love living here, and I do, but holy shit does it cause me some anger.
