soapboxing wasn’t my intent, my first status (that was multi parted into the comments) was genuinely just me wanting to share. while this one in particular was made while being irritable, i still stand by it. i know I’m not vocal here a lot of the time, but you guys don’t *have* to reply to it (don’t even have to read it if you wanna just slide past my username). hope your day is good or goes good if it’s starting.

oh also, for anyone who plans to protest on here (regardless of if you listened to me or not), please stay safe. don’t trust cops. be wary of outsiders (cops or not) trying to incite violence. pack some milk in your med supplies for mace/tear gas injuries. be extra careful about tear gas because if expired it can cause cyanide poisoning. don’t underestimate rubber bullets either. good luck.

you know what’s weird? being in the first small group of people to protest in your area because no one else will or has yet. but despite the fact I was exhausted yesterday, it made me feel really accomplished that I was, and *will* continue to, bring light to all this around these small towns. The Civil Rights Act was not in place until after protests were made. The first pride was a riot, relevant because trans woman Marsha P. Johnson, as well as other trans/queer people of color, were the first to do something at the Stonewall riots. As someone who is as openly queer as the sun is bright, in addition to other personal reasons, I owe them for my rights as a queer individual. 3/?

Idealism alone is not going to change anything. Staying complacent and passive at home with fantasies of a perfect world is not going to change anything. Not everyone holds the ideals of peace and equality in their minds. I am not going to argue further. Do not bother. This is not an issue that is debatable. I will not respond. 4/4

Tbh, it sounds like you need to take some time to calm down a bit... seeing as you are being offended by a stranger for having a different opinion from you. Besides, protesting, though effect, isn't the best idea during a pandemic.
