Nether does mine, but he’s a bit more into manipulation and sees everyone as a pawn.
I feel that the individual side stories thing is what we are at right now, but I am working on introducing the main driving force of the plot. It requires me to finish the two missions I am working on right now though, which are both slow going for different reasons, but I am almost there. After the missions go up, I'll explain the idea Gem helped me come up with in full.

Wow, I guess my attempts to explain myself late in the night were worse than I thought, because my main purpose of that message went entirely unaddressed.
Especially by the main person this was all directed towards. Zombie, every impression you've given me has been that you're overwhelmed. I'm still worried that you need more time to have something ready. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but it seems to me that you're having to wing things. My conversation with the person working on one of those mentioned missions only pointed further in that direction. I would prefer careful planning with time to do so over pushing yourself too hard and still feeling like you're falling behind, but that's my suggestion.
Blackout, Dahl, I appreciate your offers of help - especially the bit about Co-GMing. I sure don't have enough time in the semesters to assist Zmby that closely, so if he's willing to work with you on that, I think it could be helpful to him. I'm fine with contributing ideas - as I've done - but I've got to say, this situation reminds me a lot of Vanguard of Forseti.
For the uninitiated or those who have forgotten, VoF started with Zmby as the GM until he had a health crisis and needed to leave for awhile. He then handed the reigns of GM over to me, and I had to buy time with a journey to our destination because he hadn't prepared a main plot for the story, and I hadn't been in charge of that until that moment. Hence I fell behind with everyone's character plots, and the story fragmented apart and eventually failed.
I don't want Zmby to go through what I did there. So ultimately, he is the GM, and if he feels that he needs more time, he should take it. But it's up to him. I just wanted to make sure he wasn't going to pretend everything is fine for everyone else's sake while slowing kiling himself while the story moves nowhere. That's my greatest fear.
Also side note, when I referred to people who might have the latter impression of the story - as character anthology - I was almost certain you already saw it that way Pixy. That's fine, as that's your approach. I just know that Zmby plans it to be different if/when he gets the main story online.

Also sidenote, the reason that a main plot is important to my progress: I am already writing plot for two separate stories. I do not have the time and mental capacity to design a third story for my own characters at this moment, and if I did I would probably do it solo anyway.
I'm fine... ish. I just have a lot of stress fron work. But I'll be okay. Promise that main plot with those Mcguffins we discussed will start soon... ish. Just... work hours are going to increase for the next month during which I'll have a whole new schedule and I am still fighting to get my insurance. But I won't let you guys down if I can avoid it.

Yep. Keep these two in mind. And don't feel rushed. I'd rather you take your time setting up a main plot and have a roadmap well into the future before getting things started, if that's what suits you. Furthermore, don't think that the slow pace thus far is necessarily bad. It'll suit me really well once the semester starts. I just wanted to check in with the health of the rp and its gming process.

So. I wanted to announce it to make it official. I had a discussion with Zombie and I'm going to be Co-Dming with him to help take some of the weight off his shoulders. I am... Unsure what that actually means yet but we are working on stuff. :3

Also, Jerry Smith is my new character. He's very evil. And by evil, I mean so evil that he brings snacks to all of the evil "meetups" he has with his "friends". He's so evil that he removes the need for a counselor because he's so supportive. And, as we all know, evil backwards is live. And let's just say that he lives his life to the fullest. >: )
Or he's just a normal guy. Who fucking knows?
