I have time right now because I finished cleaning and I'm avoiding spending time with visitors. :3
Heh, yeah. I'm pretty anti-social, so I don't spend a terrible amount of time with visitors either. Especially not my grandmother. Ugh... She's the kind of person that likes to poke fun at people, but as she's gotten older she started getting out of line with it. Example: Last time I showed her my art, she laughed in my face and basically called it terrible. Of course, that was a long time ago when my art was a lot worse, but still. You don't take something someone proudly presents to you and then basically spit in their face. And she wonders why I don't like to spend a lot of time with her...

Not as bad as my grandmother... She moved out of the state without warning and when we asked why she replied with, "Because you drove me away." :/

I think that's the case with most elderly people.
*walks away for a few minutes, comes back to full-blown elder bashing. Backs away slowly*

I don't mean it as a bad thing (only relatively), the elder generation both has less inclination towards coddling and more inclination towards honesty. The former because of the age they lived in, the latter because of the age they are now.

Although my grandparents did irk me (sold their house with lots of memories for much less than it was worth and moved further away), I still love them. Even if I have to be a proper monkey around them.

Either way, the gathering I'm currently evading isn't for my family, it's for my parents' friends. And those people I do hate.

I love on terror missions how the chryssalids will flat out ignore you, give you the middle claw, and go around slaughtering every civilian. its not like they are a threat either, being on the other end of the map. They're just being annoying, dragging out the mission, and of course making Africa go nuts.

And seriously...they're actually running as far away as possible just to kill every civilian on the map. Is this bs long war coded in, because I don't remember this in vanilla...

Goes along with my 'mindless killing machine' theory (and it did happen to me a lot in vanilla). Of course, I've had one or two times when a floater or muton targeted a civilian over a soldier, but I never got the feeling they were avoiding my soldiers to look for civys. Chryssalids? All the time (you purple, crystallized bastards).

Well, they killed every civie on the map. And a floater instakilled my LCPL scout. Good times...and the two people standing next to zombies are panicked, so if I don't kill the zombies RIGHT NOW...plus the Floater that's FLANKING ME...

Yeah, some times Long War feels like Dark Souls. You only play it if you're a masochist that loves yelling at their TV.

I do feel like this is a mission worth restarting. The RNG just completly messed me up, and I was left with 3 people to kill 3 enemies and then the rest. Minimum damage, couldn't finish the enemy off. I'm going to play it through just to see how horribly the squad gets wiped out, then probably do a clean restart of the mission, and hope the chryssalids don't spawn in the perfect position. I literally got the unluckiest I could possibly be in that run.

Make sure to slightly alter every move you make to change the RNG seed, and don't trust shots you made the first time through.

I feel that restarting a mission due to it being impossible (And while some in LW are meant to be, the terror missions most certainly aren't, considering the consequences for leaving/not going) is not as 'savescummy' as certain things...first time I've done so in this runtrhough for 'questionable' reasons.
