So, uh... who knows stuff about computers, 'cause, uh... shit...

Got these Toshiba updates. One is for some BIO drive think. Right at the end, computer starts shutting down. Figured it was because it was restarting, but now, even though the light is on, the screen is blank. And holding down the power button won't shit it down.

What happened? How do I fix it? Anyone... know?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Kidding aside, if it's a desktop, try unplugging it and then turning it back on. If you have a laptop, may God have mercy on your soul.

It's a laptop. Why won't it turn off! There isn't even a place to remove the damn battery! What they hell is this crap?! I install updates to make it better, and it kills it but keeps it on, like some fucking zombie computer?!

My only idea now is to keep it open, plug my phone into it to draw power, wait for it to run out of power, and hope to God it turns on again and works. If not, it is off to Best Buy to hope whatever happened is covered under my warranty, because I can't afford a new computer.

Sigh... I'll keep you guys updated...

Well, best of luck to you, hopefully it fixes itself or something.

Please note, everyone, that if my laptop is, indeed, fragged, my mother has this dinky, little, 150 dollar computer I bought for her a year or two ago that I can use. Not as much as my own, but enough to use google docs, so I'll still be able to do collabs.

Not going to re-read our part?

Just kidding :p

You laugh, but I will reread that too :3

You can't remove the battery? o_O That's strange.

Generally I don't bother with manufacturer's updates, only Windows (and even then I only update it once every 3-4 months).

Toshiba, you say? That's gg right there. Last time I had a Toshiba, the performance would drop drastically within 5 minutes and the wireless would cease working. I hold little hope yours will survive based solely on that.

As far as serious assistance goes, there's not much you can do aside from what you're already doing. If restarting fails, then you're basically boned. You should be able to get it fixed or replaced though, since the update is probably the catalyst for this "incident" and therefore it's directly the manufacturer's fault. If it's the bios that's at fault, there's nothing you can do yourself unfortunately.

Just don't open it up. Pretty sure that voids any warranties.

On a lighter note, enjoyed the posts much. Pretty damn good stuff.

Couldn't remove because it there is no where to remove it from. I... can't even see where it is on the computer.

That being said, I am typing on said computer now. I... simply left it open all night, and let it die, like a Resident Evil Zombie that goes too long without eating. I then cast a resurrection spell with the power cord. It... is acting a bit slow, but at least I'm on it, and can figure out what is wrong. Not fully out of the issue yet, but getting there;).

I hope someone gets the Easter eggs to history. There are a few in the interrogation. I'll let you point them out if you can (with explanations!) then I'll confirm your genius or folly.

One day your own people will rise up against you just like we did the Qing.- Chinese dynasty overthrown in 1912. Referred to as the last Chinese dynasty.

Definitely not all but it was what I could find.

So, the treaty meeting is up. Which means tomorrow (or tonight;)), you can start putting up those closing posts. I know a lot of people will need me for multiple collabs, so I'll try and be as available as possible. Off tomorrow at 3:30.
