Oh, did I say an hour and a half earlier?

I meant NOW.

Metal warning.

Mission will come later today. Probably while you're all asleep tbh.

Thankfully, since Marine's solo is as great as your thing and both should be read alongside a solo of MINE that I'll post later this evening.

I am a huge fan Marine's imagry as always. He has a precision style that lets you picture specific actions or qualities of the environment - and this builds his style as a writer. Psyma continues to be adorable of course, reminding to focus more on the visual flair of my AIs now that their capabilities in battle have been well-defined.

As for the conversation with Leon and Gwen, goddamn they remind me of agents North Dakota and South Dakota. One is the nuturing type with an A.I., the other is the fiery type without one. While short, I think the way Gwen's issues were dealt with worked. Allowed us to see another side of Psyma, and it seems to initiate the healing process rather than automatically fix everything. That's how I interpret it anyway.

Our tastes in music is similar I see.
Hey man, I can get me some metal AND circlejerk over history while I'm at it. I'm not very picky when it comes to music tbh. So long as it has a good melody, you have my attention.

And having Gwen and Leon talk it out was actually very refreshing. Good shit.

Hey, if anyone has any posts they're currently working on, let me know now. Because once I post the introduction to the base defense, time freezes and nothing else except the mission will be getting posted. The mission's events will likely void anything unfinished, so if you're almost done finish it now or if you only just started scrap your draft and reframe it after the base defense is completed.

In an unrelated note, Snarlax has finally woken up after 20 years!

Real talk guys: how much do you actually read of what gets posted in the story thread? Be honest, I need honesty to move forward here.

Same. Why ask this all of a sudden, Gem?
Probably because, since the death of the rating system, it's extremely difficult to tell. All we have to go on are the comments and feedback of each other. Take the mission I posted. I have no idea whether anyone actually read the damn thing because there was no feedback, no reaction, no nothing. Obviously it wouldn't be feasible or practical to write a goddamn essay every time someone posts their character finding a rock in their shoe, but maybe we need to check in with each other every so often. To me, there's little point in doing this if I'm not entertaining you people. And if I'm doing something wrong or badly, I expect to be told about it. Long story short, the lack of discussion in here regarding story things certainly gives me cause to question whether everyone is paying attention.

And yeah, I read everything. Make sure I'm caught up before I visit the think tank. I enjoy it.

Yeah, the rating system did come to mind. I want to stress that the point of this to me isn't just shallow validation, and I don't think it's that way for anyone. The ratings did cause a bit of that in people sometimes, but overall they were a nice little way of saying "hey, I read the post." If we can get them back, even if you're not a huge fan of the post just tagging it with one of those 'neutral' ratings to signify that you consumed the writing would be great.

I'm going to ask about it again, since nothing has been done since I requested it be fixed months ago. If anyone else has Sarge's steam, sent him a message there since that's about the only place I ever see him on.

But yeah, the reason it is so vital that people read is not only so that the writer feels like they've accomplished something (if a tree falls in a forest, does anyone... ah, forget it)... there's also the matter of comprehension and community. If we have people that aren't caught up or don't read the post of certain individuals, then it leads to confusion, lack of engagement in the larger and small plots, and numerous frustrating effects including repetition. I have to wonder if early on in the story, the reason people didn't just pretend like word that Yakone was the Commander's daughter got around was because they didn't read any of the posts where people react to her mother's identity. I swear, nearly ever other RPer made that exclamation upon meeting her, and only once or twice was it actually played for laughs.

To be honest, I do read as many post as I can. Which is all of them, and if I did miss one I will go back and read them.
