It's a little late, but I think it was great, certainly a compelling story. No criticism that hasn't been said, just try to break up the dialogue lines a little more. My english professor hammered that hard into my head, always keep the dialogue lines and the description lines separate as much as possible. There's always times you have to textwall it, but as long as you can limit them, it works out. An example of a change I would make frequently:

to

That kind of change just makes it look more digestible I think. There's nothing wrong with having a long-looking post as long as you can read it quickly. Separate lines for separate speaking characters makes it easier to follow as well.
Thank you very much

Not always true, though. For instance, if I have someone talking, then there's a bit of action, and the same person says something else, I only have to state the speaker once if it's in one paragraph. It can get repetitive otherwise.

Sometimes I have long, run-on sentences for Jessica, usually to show the ditzy way she tends to speak when she's emotional about soemthing, like when she's excited or worried.

My general rule is that if the description between the two quotes is longer than the quotes combined, I'll break it or fit the quotes to one side.

Gotta say, I'm really liking where all of this is going. I've enjoyed all of the stuff with Modya and Atka, and I feel like I've been able to do a (fairly) equal amount of content with them. As for Thomas...if he hears about Elizabeth and Desmond he might be less suspicious of Mr. Walker, we'll see.

That said, I probably don't have too much more to add until after the next mission, so I'l probably just be lurking a bit and you might see something more from Atka soonish, but probably nothing for today unless I'm asked otherwise. In the meantime, I'll be attempting to wipe out any homework I see in my future so I can have plenty of time this week.

The next mission hasn't gone up yet out of respect for BMPixy, as it is unfair to rush him when he lives in a seperate time zone then I do. However, he is working on it, and I'll likely post the mission itself some time tomorrow, possibly late afternoon.

I haven't written it out yet, but I do know what kind of mission the next one will be, I have a general idea where it will be, I know how many soldiers will be sent out, and I know who will be on it; Desmond & Emily, in seperate squads.

Finally, I have a collab with Frostlich that I'll be posting as soon as I get a chance. It's just a piece of character development, but we worked hard (and late) on it, so I hope you all enjoy.

If we are in different squads does that mean we have two different experiences trying to meet the same objective or will we be like ten feet away from each other

I am debating if I should post some CD or just take a break for the next few days on character posts. What do you guys think I am not flooding the stories am I?

I don't feel flooded, so keep posting if you want. Just remember to pace yourself. You don't want to burn yourself out.

As for your other question, you'll be in the same city, and you'll have the same objective, but you'll be in a completely different part of the city, and you'll be so busy protecting yourself and completing your main mission, you might as well be on seperate missions.

In other words, same mission, but seperate posts. Feel free to share your posts ahead of time, though, so you mention hearing each other over the comms, or chatting before being dropped off or after being picked up.

As a quick note, I have a bit of work to set up the mission after next (you'll see what I mean when the time comes), so I won't be available for collabs tomorrow, but I'll be floating around to answer questions and offer input.

And since no one has mentioned wanting gene mods or cybernetics, am I to take it no wants wants meld for their characters? That's fine by me, makes things easier to track, I just find it surprising.

It would also be good to ask who wants psi powers too

I was saving that for later, but if anyone wants to put their hand in that pot, feel free. I already know Desmond wants psionics.

And just in case you're holding out for a one or the other case, you can have gene mods and psionics. I have several ideas for what psionics I'll offer, and it'll be a decent pool. As a balancing act, some of the more powerful powers will be offered to psionic soldiers so they'll be as strong as soldiers with psionics and gene mods, but the available powers for the latter group with be pretty good too.

Cybernetic soldiers won't be able to get psionics, but they'll be such great power houses on the field, they won't need them.

If you want help with the psionics I can take care of that. I already have a sizable pool of custom powers for Desmond that I could make available to everyone.

My characters don't want MELD yet, they might need it later but for now it's not something a lot of people are comfortable with, the characters I mean.

Once we get there, I'll defiantly except suggestions.

Maybe once they see some NPCs with it, they'll be more accepting (if they aren't required to do so by the harshness of the war).

I want my character to have meld in her system, just tell me were I can sign her up.

I posted a list of available gene mods a while ago, but here they are again:

Like the game, you're limited to one ability per section of the body. The availability of the gene-mods will be a mix of EW and long war, and will largely be linked to which aliens Leon has gotten his hands on. Here are the ones available right now:

Hyper Reactive Pupils (Eyes): Will allow your character's eyes to quickly adapt to situations, not only giving them a better chance at hitting targets they miss, but allowing them to quickly find enemies that shoot at them from hiding.

Depth Perception (Eyes): Will let your character take full advantage of having the high ground, and they won't be as debilitated by the distance that comes with having a height advantage.

Smart Macrophages (Brain): Available thanks to the Sectoid autopsy. This supercharges your character's immune system, letting them heal almost instantly from being poisoned, and increases the healing power of medkits on them.

Muscle Fiber Density (Legs): Available thanks to the Thin Man autopsy. Grants super-powered strength to your characters legs, enhancing their jumping power. Will allow them to jump to great heights unaided. Can be used to reach roofs or get a temporary height advantage, and allows for a quick burst of speed.

And on a final note, as I said, only one Mech will be allowed, but if none of you want to have a Mech, I completely understand. Personally, I wouldn't like the idea of my character losing their limbs either.

Just be careful if Pixy decides he wants Albert to be a MEC. His last MEC was known to attempt to "protect people from themselves" were they mind-controlled.

And yes Pixy, I did see the second time that occurred. I was unimpressed.
