I swear to shit, painting takes eons. But that's Juniper, the character I plan to RP as. She'll look a bit different in the XCOM universe though. Mainly just less dolled up, because who has time for make-up and jewelry? This is WAR!! Sectoids don't give two farts what you look like! They're going to try to blast your face with plasma anyways!
My color palettes are also war. Just look at that garbage.

While drawing the stupid doodle on the left, I noticed how similar Juniper's glasses are to mine. I WONDER WHERE I SUBCONSCIOUSLY GOT THEM FROM. HMMM...

Also, my offer to paint doodle other characters from the RP still stands. Give me respite from working on this one drawing all day. Plezz. :'D

I'll give you story progression when I get home. Don't have time this morning, unfortunately.

A drawing of Desmond or Elizabeth would be cool after Frost gets her character done :p It appears you are going to be busy lol

The quick portraits won't be nearly as super carefully blended and lined as that picture. Mainly because all the parts that have shading right now, which is just the head and chest... JUST the shading... took 2.5 FRIGGIN HOURS. It's not entirely fair because face detail and hair always takes the longest almost all the time, but still... PAINTING.
That's the problem with learning new art styles. Since you're not used to it and don't know where to cut corners and optimize your time, everything seems to take an additional 50% to 100% the amount of time you think they should. But that's where doing "quick and dirty" drawings help. Since I'd be able to get through the whole artistic process much faster, the shortcuts become more apparent. Like, "Oh, even going at a quick pace, this area looks pretty much as good as if I had spent [some stupid amount of time] on it."

But yea, generally I'll do the drawing in the order I get the reference material (images, written descriptions, etc), sooo... *sits back and watches the race*

(also, DarkGemini, monster girls tickle my fancy, so trying to draw a chryssalid girl sounds like a lot of fun, *wink wonk*)

Just so everyone knows, I'll be going on a vacation this Sunday for a week. I probably won't have much access to the internet while I'm gone, but I'll try to sneak in whenever I can. I'll be back the following Sunday evening and basically be completely free after that until early-mid January when I move and university starts up again.

I might seem inactive for the past two days, but that is only because I've been working with Gemini and Adramm on several mission ideas. Between the three of us we have one large mission for New Delhi with another in the works, two mini New Delhi missions, and three more medium size missions for Eva and Ashley, Desmond, and when she feels up to it, Ammelia. So expect more activity from me tomorrow. For today, it is my mother's birthday, so needless to say, I have other important things to take care of.

Yeah, I could give you Buniq. I gave the description to someone else after writing it, the person that drew Elene...and I think didn't realize I was giving it to them. So I'll need to write it again.

Okay, take all the time you need Adramma, and Zombie have a fun time with your mother.

Now, I am a bit nervous about something. I want to start a thread on the new board, but I don't know if it qualifies. I wouldn't be opposed to people joining me for later stuff, but initially it would be an outlet for short stories in a developing world of mine called "Orbis." As it isn't based off a game or (at least for the first short story) a cooperative thing...so I'm a bit hesitant to whether it would fit there or not. (The problem is, I don't see anywhere else to put it)

When in doubt, ask the Sarge. If it isn't, he'll point you in the right direction. He is always eager for new content.

I renamed the board small role-playing. X-Com is a very expansive role play for everyone that I dont want take away from. The small role-play should be treated as short fun RP's. Think of it as short stories. Fun, and little change of pace.

In other news we need more people on this site.

now officially starts the star wars rp. I will have a partner for this but he or she will be revealed when the time is right (or if they just spill it)

Orbis will be solo until I get a request from someone to do something, which is just fine. I'm trying to decide what to start with, though.

1. Stuff involving a Venator Feralis oracle in the 'Sentaric Empire'
2. Events on a trading post island in the Talisor 'Imperium de Fobus'
3. The slave trade along the border between Fobus and the outer Paludem lands
4. The people of the north, 'barbarians'

If any of those are something you'd like to see first, do suggest it.

Do it in a way where the events make sense, example being something that happened in one event has a minor effect on another event (Disrupting the slave trade and merchants on the trading island feel the effects of the closed black market)

Well, the different short stories aren't necessarily correlated. They're just happening in the same world (and somewhat close together in time)

Behold Juniper's character bio portrait. I always spend way to long painting, I swear. I really need to develop a quicker drawing style. Which is hopefully what I can work to accomplish once I get the information I need to draw my test subjects volunteers. :B

Well now all I need to do is write the dang bio...
