I'm probably going to be mia for the next 2 or 3 days, so I'll say this now - happy new year everyone! 2016 has been fun, and I can only hope 2017 is just as good. Or better.

2016 was the Year of the Fire Monkey. The last example of this was 1776, ironically (I suppose you wouldn't get that reference, Aussie). It was the year of the old order being replaced with a new one. And next year is the Year of the Fire Rooster, which means that all things good and bad will be multiplied. So that's both exciting and terrifying.

Here's a small solo to show you Kai isn't dead and show a bit of his insecurity that he is still dealing with but also how far his relationship with his brain buddy has become. Damn character limit making me split it up...
Not bad. The descriptions of everything (aside from a run-on sentence or two) was well done, and I could picture everything in my mind. The house. The ponds and clearing. The, um... hanging body and explosion that I can only assume consumed his home... ahem...
Really well done. The thing that makes it such an effective nightmare was how peaceful and believable it was (even if it was clearly a dream) before all hell broke loose.
I'm assuming the boy was... Kai as a child? And the miss covered object was the shrine where he picked up his mental neighbor?
